Below is the short answer with then Long answer and comments
Short Answer:
Yes it is a normal function of a computer today. Insert your cd into the computer and when a window opens up, select a choice suggesting that you can copy it to your computer, then copy it. Remeber where you put it. Then click on it on your computer to see if it works.
Long Answer:
- I hate it when folks say something is easy as I never find anything easy on a computer, but I will say this is a normal function for a computer.
- It all depends on many things including Whether you have the programs already to copy and many computers do, what computer operating system you have, how much memory, Is it a dvd or cd, what type of cd is it , how big is it or how long does it play, Whether he has it on the web (Which might make it easier to download), what kind of extension (mov flv mp4 etc) etc. No need in telling me but the newer the computer and more memory and storage the better chances of getting it done. Most computers in the last 5 or more years will do it, some faster than others. If it is a small file, and I bet it is, it should not take long, A full disk can take a while (CD is 700 mg but a dvd is 7 time larger and depends what is on them and how much.)
- Put cd in the slot and watch and wait up to 2 minutes. If you get a screen such as the one below, just try one of the programs by clicking on one. Copy it as it instructs, re,member where you copy it. After finish, find the file and click on it and see if it plays. Or use a program to open it up and play.
- Maybe you will not have this variety of programs and you will have to let me know what you have and whether it works. Then we will continue . .
- To test on my computer I click on "Import pictures and video using Windows Live Photo Gallery" and put several videos on my computer, then sent them to Smugmug so you could see at (there are 9 videos and will take 2 hours for all to get up)
